Writing. Editing. Empowering.

Hello, I’m Katie. I was raised by two entrepreneurs, and I love helping women and nonbinary folks grow their businesses with spot-on writing.

Whether you’re launching a website, an email marketing plan, or an annual report, I’m here for you. I bring my heart and my editing prowess to every project I work on.

As a copywriter and editor, I have a deep and abiding love for the written word, paired with the obsessive knack for finding just the right phrasing. Over the past ten years I’ve rewritten dozens of web pages, published feature stories for organizations large and small, and earned an MFA in writing.

I’m based in St. Louis, MO, and I connect with clients anywhere by phone or Zoom. In my free time, I’m usually drawing, listening to an audiobook, or contemplating the wisdom of Brené Brown. (Or, on great days, all three at once!)

My Colleagues Say…

Expertise

Copywriting

Web content, social media outreach, email marketing. I love finding the words to help you connect with clients and do the work you were meant to do.

Editing

Large-scale course-corrections, nitty-gritty tweaks, and everything in between. If your draft feels flat, I bring the tact and talent to revive it, collaboratively.

Creative Writing

Essays, poems, cross-genre adventures. My work has been published in Jewish Currents and Root & Star Magazine. I’m at work on my first book, an illustrated memoir.

My Colleagues Say…

“Katie brings a positive attitude, a focus on excellence, and a spirit of inclusion to all around her.”

— Megan Brewster, Manager of External Affairs and Communications

Selected Experience

Master of Fine Arts in Writing

2018 – 2020

I undertook an intensive study of narrative and the written word, with an emphasis in Creative Nonfiction. I taught college-level creative writing, crafted a 100+ page master’s thesis, and cultivated a love of collaborative revision.

Communications Manager

2017 – 2018

I collaborated on a year-long, ground-up redesign of the Brown School’s website. In addition, I specialized in content creation, editing, and ghostwriting for executive administrators, as well as email marketing.

Marketing Coordinator

2014 – 2017

I coordinated the internal and external communications efforts for the nation’s top-ranked school of social work. In my first year, I wrote, designed, and launched two mission-critical microsites to recruit MSW and MPH students.

Web Content Specialist

2012 – 2013

I partnered with Collegiate Web Solutions to provide comprehensive website overhauls for colleges and universities. I reinvigorated existing web pages and crafted new content consistent with the university’s brand, message, and goals.

That’s my story.
How can I help you shape yours?
